Tuesday Tune \ Tory Y Moi – Still Sound

This week’s Tuesday Tune is one of our favorite Toro Y Moi songs called Still Sound. With all the bad weather going on and a long week of serious work ahead of us, this is the ultimate upbeat tune for a Tuesday afternoon.

More awesomeness about this song is this: Toro Y Moi’s record label Carpark is hosting a remix contest for Still Sound. You can download the stems here, give the song your magical touch and upload it to the label’s Soundcloud by January 31. Chaz Bundick will pick out his favorite entry, which will be included on an official Toro Y Moi remix record. Isn’t that a nice little task for your Tuesday evening? Have fun!

Crystal Castles \ Not In Love ft. Robert Smith

Check out this vague, lo-fi video for Crystal Castles 2010 single Not in Love featuring The Cure’s Robert Smith. Created by director Nic Brown from a bulk of raw VHS-looking footage, the video matches the song’s eighties atmosphere. Crystal Castles reinterpreted Not In love, which originally was a 1980’s song by new wave band Platinum Blond. They digitally manipulated it, put a whole lot of noise over it and asked living legend Robert Smith to do the vocals, which gave the song just that little bit extra.
