BLEND Bloemhof is a three-in-one store in Southern Rotterdam
It is a coffee tent, a barbershop and a clothing store. Would you like to enjoy a nice (ice) coffee? Looking for a great vintage outfit? Ready for a new coupe? Then come to our living room for the neighborhood.
The living room offers space for 35 people. Here you can meet up with friends, surf the internet and enjoy a delicious sandwich. Of course we serve all kinds of hot and cold drinks. And don't forget our delicious ice cream!
Would you also like to drink our direct trade Costa Rican coffee at home? Order our beans via the web shop (Dutch) or pick them up in the store!
BLEND is not just any business. We are mainly there to make connections between people from all kinds of different backgrounds. We do this by organizing and facilitating activities such as meals, spoken word evenings and discussion groups. Do you want to join us or do you have a great idea of your own? Let us know!
BLEND is building a community with and for the Bloemhof area. We believe in the power of Togetherness. People are not meant to be alone and that is why we reach out to each other. Life has meaning. Rembrandt's painting about the prodigal son who comes home to the father does not just hang on our wall. This is what we aim for: a safe home in the neighborhood.
Carolien en Hans
We, Carolien and Hans, moved from Veenendaal to Rotterdam in 2017. After more than a year, we both had an identical dream on the same night. We saw ourselves running a neighborhood living room on our own street at number 220A.
The hairdresser cut her customers, yellow awnings hung in front of the windows and there was a long table with colorful chairs. More importantly, a new community of local residents was formed. However different from each other, yet connected.
Getting a dream is one thing, but seeing it come true is another. We have worked confidently for two years on its realization. BLEND opened its doors in Bloemhof at the beginning of 2021.
